The Subways big break came when they won a competition to perform at the other stage at Glastonbury in 2004. With a stripped down live show honed by relentless touring, the band won many new fans, a slot on the bill at the Carling Weekend Reading and Leeds 2004 and support duties for tours by bands such as the Von Bondies, Dogs Die in Hot Cars and Kings of Leon. The band's first album Young For Eternity was released in 2005 and with a debut headlining UK tour completed in spring 2005, the Subways look set to be around for a long time to come.
